The Nigerian health system continues to be under severe strain, and Felix Ofungwu, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ISN Medical, urges the federal government to immediately implement the historic Abuja Declaration an agreement in 2001 between African Union member states to allocate at least 15 percent of their national budgets to health.
According to Ofungwu, Nigeria is a signatory to the accord, but has not implemented its policies, adding that only a few AU member countries have honor their commitment since its inception.
Felix Ofungwu, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ISN Medical also recommended for increased cooperation between the public and private sectors to close enduring gaps in healthcare, pointing out that the importation of medical equipment has historically been hampered by foreign exchange volatility. “Over the past twelve months, things have been relatively more stable,” he stated, characterizing the change as a chance for organizations to increase their investment in the Nigerian healthcare industry.
Regarding the organization’s future course, Ofungwu stated, “We don’t compromise on quality, and we are committed to a strong sense of values and integrity.” We guarantee accurate diagnosis for any patient that interacts with us. We have been doing this for forty-five years.
In the future, we hope that every patient receives an accurate diagnosis, and ISN has spearheaded efforts to ensure this. He also mentioned the organization’s involvement in disease research, provision of consumables and equipment for diagnosis confirmation, and careful consideration of its partners.
ISN Medical’s Consumer Healthcare Unit, which focuses on providing patients and healthcare professionals with high-quality diagnostic solutions, handles a large portion of the company’s operations.
The Accu-Chek range, the unit’s flagship product, is frequently used for daily blood sugar monitoring to guarantee reliable readings for diabetic patients. Ify Chioke, the unit’s head, emphasized that subpar items in this category might immediately worsen a patient’s condition, therefore the company’s dedication to providing only the best medical equipment is a patient safety requirement rather than a commercial choice. Through our cutting-edge goods, we ensure that patients have access to healthcare opportunities. We also make sure that healthcare practitioners and patients receive high-quality solutions from us,” Ify Chioke stated.
